Final Fantasy XIV, Part 17 (Happy Dungeon Times)

December 1st – Chatted with the crew about life and stuff. Mostly we all hung out and decorated. Dope screenshots are the DPS Rankings. Bedroom furnishings are the new endgame content.

December 10th – So that bards and scholars may know of our deeds, here, then, is our accounting:

Aericka, Glock, Worf, Drippy, and Truffle traveled to the Dravanian hinterlands to explore ruins of the steel colossus Alexander, where it lay in a mountain lake like a slumbering, primordial god, siphoning the aether from all who dare approach it. Once inside, they discovered a horde of mechanical horrors from another time-stream, hungry for blood and insane with isolation. One false step would see the Owlbears torn from this universe and set adrift on the Sea of Time. Fortune smiled on us this day, for the combined might of these Warriors of Light was enough to stem the tide and banish the wrathful daemons who dwelt in the colossus’ heart… for now.

• Drippy bought a picture frame for an oil painting he picked up some months ago in Idyllshire, and hung it near the bathtub. It looks great. Really ties the room together.

Aericka, Glock, Worf, and Drippy had an impromptu dance party at Owlbear Manor and spent the better part of two hours emoting and taking screenshots.

• And Truffle got a really nice sweater. Very chic. We didn't take a picture of that, though.

January 24th and 25th – Glock introduced us to the Halls of the Dead. We rolled fresh new classes and got to work clearing dungeon levels. As of right now, Drippy is a level 32 White Mage. Also, Truffle and Worf introduced me to Treasure Dungeons, and Glock introduced me to Hunts. I think I logged a good 8+ hours of game time today!

I also healed and befriended a unicorn tonight, which is a statement I don't get to write in my journal very often. How magical.

I'm playing in bursts. A long day of gaming here, a night of raids and leveling dungeons there. I think this is the sweet spot for most MMOs. I've always been a 'drink from the firehose' kind of player, so it's taken me... what, over a year to get here? Huh. Maybe I'm mellowing out? Finding my groove? Who knows? WHO CARES? I've got dungeons to delve and unicorns to tame. I ain't got time for pensive reflection. WARRIORS OF LIGHT, WE RIDE!
